YouTube has set a number of regulations to protect viewers, companies, and in some aspects, content creators. Because of these regulations, several YouTubers have had their channel deleted. Today we'll be going over some content creators who got their YouTube channel deleted.
In the 20th century, fake news was not a problem. But now, as news is "evolving", it's becoming more and more common. This is a big problem, because it misleads us all in our news, causing us to know false information. This was especially important after the 2016 presidential election, as there was a lot of fake news about voter frauds and candidates rigging the election. Today we'll be going over some fake news.
On February 13, 2017 the National Security Advisor of the United States resigned from his position. He had did this after it was revealed that he had mislead Mike Pence and other officials about his talks with the Russian ambassador to the U.S.
Southeast Asia is a part of the world that is one of the most controversial topics to talk about. Today I'll be sharing some of Southeast Asia's current problems.
Thailand Seafood Slavery This has been lasting for a few years, and is a big problem. Here's what happens: traffickers in the seafood industry act like businessman and go to poor areas in Laos and Cambodia to look for vulnerable people that are desperate for a job. The victims often pay the traffickers for illegal migration to Thailand. The traffickers then sell the victims to boat captains or shrimp peelers so that they can be used for free labor. Unfortunately, because of the high demand for seafood, many people in the Thai seafood industry will resort to slavery to keep the industry running and support the high demand. Some countries have put a sanction on all seafood from Thailand, but it is unlikely that the U.S. will sanction seafood because the U.S. considers Thailand as too important of a Southeast Asian ally to give up. Donald Trump has been president for just about 2 weeks now, and he's done a lot. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. A lot. He's made a total of 22 executive actions.. In this article, I'll be going over everything that Donald Trump has done while being President. So with that long introduction, let's get started. Also, I won't be going over all of them. Executive Order: Repealing the Affordable Care Act A key campaign promise was to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which isn't exactly too affordable to a lot of people. There are taxes, health forms, and complicated purchases that need to be made, which is really inconvenient, but I won't go in to all that stuff. Anyway, on January 20th, Donald Trump signed an order getting ready to repeal the Affordable Care Act. However, it is highly unlikely that a solution that reduces health care costs will be agreed upon anytime soon between the government. Presidential Memorandum: Backing out of the Trans Pacific Partnership Trade Deal Protests have been made against the TPP, which is a trade deal that would lower tariffs for 12 countries in the Pacific Rim. Two of these countries are Japan and Mexico. Donald Trump said quote on quote: " to permanently withdraw the United States from TPP negotiations, and to begin pursuing, wherever possible, bilateral trade negotiations to promote American industry, protect American workers, and raise American wages." Presidential Memorandum: Freezing on Executive Hiring On January 23, President Trump froze all of the hiring in the executive branch besides hiring in the military. This was done to reduce government spending. However, Union leaders call this counterproductive because it would disrupt beneficial government programs and services. Presidential Memorandum: Reinstating the Mexico City Global Gag Rule On January 23, Donald Trump officially reinstated the "Mexico City" policy. The global gag rule was introduced by Ronald Reagan in 1984 and has been reinstated and got rid of many times. This rule bans non-government organizations working abroad from discussing abortion. Believe it or not, abortion was a big factor in the election. Presidential Memorandum: Reducing Manufacturing Regulations On January 24, Trump redirected his Secretary of Commerce to look at how federal regulations affect manufacturing in the U.S. The purpose of doing this was to reduce manufacturing regulations as much as possible, which manufacturers have wanted for a little while. Presidential Memorandum: Allowing Pipelines in the U.S. On January 24, Trump signed three different memoranda to expand oil pipelines in America. Native American tribes, Democrats, and activists all disagreed with this action. 2 of the memoranda direct agencies to review and allow the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline and the Keystone XL Pipeline. One argument affirming this move is that pipelines transport oil and gas more safely than trucks than trains can. An argument negating this action is that pipelines threaten to contaminate drinking water, which is a big problem, like it was in Flint, Michigan. Executive Order: Environmental Review for Infrastructure On January 24, Donald Trump signed an executive order that allows heads of federal agencies or governors to request that an infrastructure project be high-priority, so it can be environmentally reviewed. Trump signed this with his three memoranda on oil pipelines. Executive Order: Less Funding for Sanctuary Cities Just to get this out of the way, a sanctuary city is a city that follows certain State procedures to shelter illegal immigrants. On January 25, Mr. Trump said this to all sanctuary cities: follow federal immigration laws or have your funding pulled. This is a very controversial topic, as many people agree and disagree with this topic. San Francisco has already sued Donald Trump for "unconstitutional" actions. Executive Order: The Wall I give you two words. The wall. More specifically, the wall between Mexico and the U.S. On January 25, President Trump ordered the instantaneous deportation and detainment of illegal immigrants. The order also requires agencies to count how much foreign aid is being sent to Mexico within 30 days. This action also orders Border Protection and the U.S. Customs to hire 5,000 more border patrol agents. Also, even though Donald Trump has claimed that Mexico will pay for this wall, that is unlikely. Presidential Proclamation: National School Choice Week On January 26, Donald Trump declared January 22 through January 28, 2017 as National School Choice Week. This action's purpose was to encourage the demanding of charter schools and school-voucher programs, which Trump's Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos is a big fan of these programs. An argument that negates this move is that it weakens public schools and helps private schools. Presidential Memorandum: Military Rebuild On January 27, Trump ordered his Secretary of Defense James Mattis to hold a readiness review of the military and the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Once this is done, James Mattis will state his recommendations to remake the armed forces. Executive Order: Ban on Immigration On January 27, President Trump blocked all immigrants from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen from entering the country for 90 days. He also banned everyone from Syria, including refugees. Judges from multiple states have declared the order unconstitutional, but the White House continues to defend the order. Presidential Memorandum: Bringing down ISIS On January 28, Trump ordered his administration to devise an understandable plan to take down ISIS drafted within 30 days. This is a start to bringing down ISIS, but more will be needed. Executive Order: No Lobbying On January 28, Mr. Trump ordered all appointed members of every executive agency to sign an ethics pledge that declared that they would never lobby another country and won't do any other lobbying for five years after they leave the U.S. government. Executive Order: New Regulation=Two Less Regulations On January 30, Donald Trump stated that for every regulation the executive branch proposes, two existing regulations must be repealed. One of the advantages of this is that the current maximum spending on new 2017 regulations is now $0. However, this could easily undo important regulations already put in place, such as regulations protecting the environment and natural resources. Presidential Proclamation: American Heart Month On February 2, President Trump welcomed all Americans to wear red on February 3 for National Wear Red Day. He also went along with Congress's request all presidents to declare February American Heart Month every year. The purpose of this action is to remember those who have died from heart disease and to improve its prevention, treatment, and detection.
